Living healthy and fit is the way to live a life fulfilled. With a new year comes new energy and motivation, so take advantage of it and make a change for the better. One definitive way to do that is to take the Circuit25 six week challenge with me.
I was in peak shape this summer. However, when the holidays came around, I was ready to indulge. It started at Halloween, with all the candy, chocolate and treats. Then came a three-week binge in the States over Thanksgiving. I attended five different Thanksgiving dinners, and enjoyed each and every one of them a little too much. To top it off, I just finished a very indulgent Christmas week, complete with turkey, stuffing and lots of pies and yummy eggnog.
During this time, I have been a new stay-at-home dad, with no time for the gym. I have also been spending many hours at my desk designing and writing editorials for our new website, where, as you can see if you cruise around, you can find many tips on how to lead a healthy
and fit life.
But the time has come. I can’t make any more excuses. I owe it to myself, to my clients, to my daughter. It’s a new year and I’m ready to get back into shape and to become healthy again. And what better way to do that than with a challenge? Join me in the Circuit25 six week challenge, beginning the first of January 2012. It will culminate on Valentines Day, February 14, 2012.
I will be going back to my fitness roots for this challenge. I will be using Dr. Phil Maffetone’s 180 formula again, the same method that turned my life around 12 years ago. Sometimes, people fall off-track and need to go back to what helped them before. And I am doing just that. I adamantly believe in Dr. Maffetone and his methods, and I know that this is the best template to use for this challenge.
Just to give you an idea of what these six weeks will entail, my workout schedule will involve working out five times a week. Each day will include a run or a C25 session. I will have two days of rest, usually between every few days of fitness. Here’s a breakdown:
1. Four times a week, I will run for 45 minutes, working my way up to 75 minutes after two weeks.
Please use the 180 formula when running.
2. Twice a week, I will attend Circuit25 classes. One of these days, I will include a run.
Monday: Run
Tuesday: Circuit25
Wednesday: Off
Thursday: Run
Friday: Run
Saturday: Morning Circuit25, Late Afternoon Run
Sunday: Off
I will be posting my workouts on Facebook, twitter and on our website in the news section. Please visit and follow along with me. Better yet, lose the holiday weight and get fit with me. Pop that champagne (in moderation) and let’s make it happen together!
